A gamified web application contracted by Crime Stoppers of Houston & The John M. O'Quinn Foundation, gaining 15k+ users in its first week.
The Safe Space for Students is a contracted web application built for Crime Stoppers of Houston and The John M. O'Quinn Foundation Million for Million Initiative — a mission-driven program aimed at empowering students and fostering safer school environments.
Launched in early February 2026, the platform gained over 15,000 users in its very first week, a testament to both the impact of the initiative and the accessibility of the experience we created.
I designed and developed the entire front end, focusing on building something that would genuinely engage a student audience. The standout feature of the application is its gamification system — turning meaningful interactions and participation into a rewarding, game-like experience that encourages students to keep coming back and stay engaged with the program's mission.
Every design decision was made with students in mind: approachable visuals, intuitive flows, and a UI that feels dynamic and fun without sacrificing clarity or purpose. The result is a platform that blends social impact with thoughtful front-end engineering — making a real difference while delivering a polished, engaging user experience.
